Apply to work in Canada

Foreign nationals may be eligible to work in Canada under either of the following programs:

  • the Temporary Foreign Worker Program

    • Employers must obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire foreign workers to fill temporary labour and skill shortages. The LMIA verifies that there is a need for a temporary worker and that no Canadians or permanent residents are available to do the job.

  • the International Mobility Program (IMP)

    • The IMP lets employers hire temporary workers without an LMIA. Exemptions from the LMIA process are based on both of the following:

      • the broader economic, cultural or other competitive advantages for Canada

      • the reciprocal benefits enjoyed by Canadians and permanent residents

We can help you:

  • Determine if you need a work permit or not

  • Determine if you need Labour Marker Impact Assessment (LMIA) or exempted

  • Prepare your supporting documents and submit your work permit application

  • Apply for an open work permit for your spouse

  • Extend or change the condition of your work permit

  • Travel and work in Canada as a youth

  • Work as an international student

  • Work as Temporary Resident Permit (TRP) holder (For inadmissible foreign nationals only)

Note: You can also work in Canada under the new pilot program for caregivers which is known as Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Program - LMIA exempted.

In addition to the above services, we can verify if your potential employer is listed with the status "ineligible" on the list of employers who contravened the conditions of the Temporary Foreign Worker's Program (TFWP).
